Cleaning and Refilling
What is Refilling?
It's simply reusing ink and toner cartridges so they can print again. Cartridges are dissassembled and cleaned, and any necessary replacement parts are added. High quality toner or ink is added giving excelent printing results.
Save Money and Get Quality
Most refilled cartridges are 30 to 60 percent cheaper than the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) cartridges with comparable quality and reliability. In fact, many refilled cartridges last longer, as they have up to 20 percent more toner than OEM cartridges.
Customers Deserve a Choice
The way many OEM's design their cartridges discourages reuse and remanufacturing. It would benefit both the environment and consumers for the cartridges to be designed so they can be reused more easily. No auto manufacturer would be allowed to require consumers to buy its own brand of gasoline.
A Better Choice
Refilling is the best way to save products from the landfill. It is a superior choice, both environmentally and economically.
Think Green
- Every year more than 300 milion plastic cartridges end up dumped in landfills in the United States and around the world.
- Just in the United States, around 8 cartridges are thrown away every second of every day.
- The plastic in each toner cartridge takes three and a half quarts of oil to produce. Last year, approximately two million cartridges were refilled saving more than three million gallons of oil.
- The average toner cartridge weighs 3 to 4 pounds, which means that the total weight thrown out each year is equivalent to 67,612 Ford Explorers or 112,463 Volkswagen Beetles.
- 70 percent of used cartridges are currently being thrown out around the world.
- For every cartridge that is refilled is one less that will be produced, saving it from entering the waste stream and from draining the planet's natural resources.
